Wedding Photography - Specific Styles and Techniques

De Les Feux de l'Amour - Le site Wik'Y&R du projet Y&R.

Each photographer has his or her own style of taking pictures. After many years of shooting, you usually can narrow the various techniques and approaches into different style categories. I have narrowed it down to four various typical formats of wedding photography that we cover. We are completely and fully comfortable shooting each one and permit the couple to choose which style best represents their personality and personal flair!

1. Wedding Photojournalism

A wedding photojournalistic style of photography entails the photographer not becoming involved nearly as much as regular. The story is told though the photographs and emphasis is taken off of the typical posed and planned photos. With this style of wedding photography, we have a tendency to stand on the sidelines and shoot from the background, becoming as unobtrusive as possible. However, the photos we capture place the viewer right in the mix of what is going on. We capture all-natural moments that occur in reality without the typical setting up and posing a picture. With this style of photography, we consider ourselves to be "photographic storytellers," guiding the viewer through the "story" of your wedding day. This is our option format of wedding photography. We truly enjoy finding these definite moments of significance that frequently pass by too quickly and capturing them inside our lens.

2. Conventional Wedding Photography

In contrast to the wedding photojournalistic style, this style of photography has a lot involvement from the photographer. Many of the portraits are set up and posed, incorporating a more conventional method to wedding photos. The wedding photographer acts as a director of sorts, guiding the wedding party and guests into formations and poses for pictures. Although the main style of shooting for our studio is the Wedding Photojournalistic style, we do have encounter in directing and top wedding parties into the posed group and individual formal photos.

3. Fashion Wedding Photography

This style of wedding photography rings accurate with its name - it is focused on the element of fashion. Brides who request fashion wedding photos to be taken frequently book studio time outdoors of a regular wedding day shoot. This enables the photographers to strategy out a session incorporating much more lighting and creative techniques. Doing a fashion wedding shoot in studio also allows the bride more freedom in moving into typical fashion poses (such as the hands on the hips, hunched back pose) paired with a much more severe and "fashion-like" facial expression. Each brides and grooms request this style of wedding photography to add some thing different and dramatic to their wedding photo album.
