The symbol we most often associate Thanksgiving with is the turkey which is why there are many turkey crafts for kids that your child can make with a little help from you. Craft time can be special as you and your child spend time together making fun turkey crafts for kids. You can make it a holiday tradition, too, and you might find that your child will look forward to craft time year after year!

Here is one of the cute turkey crafts for kids that we are fond of. We think it is very special when you are able to use your child’s hand or foot prints to make kids Thanksgiving crafts because you can make this a tradition from year to year and watch how your child has grown. Take a piece of brown construction paper and trace around your child’s foot. Do not trace the toes! Then trace your child’s hand with fingers slightly splayed out and do trace around the fingers. Make several of these from yellow, red, and orange construction paper.

The heel of your child’s footprint is the head of a turkey. Arrange the hands behind the turkey to make feathers and glue into place. Take a strip of brown construction paper and accordion fold for legs. Cut out feet from yellow construction paper. Glue to the bottom of the turkey. Have your child draw on a face and you have a really cute Thanksgiving turkey! Don’t forget to write the date and age of your child on the back!

Another of the cute turkey crafts for kids we like is to make a side view of a turkey again using your child’s hand. Paint the child's hand and thumb brown and the other fingers different colors; red, yellow, green, orange, etc. Press the child’s hand on a piece of construction paper to make a turkey print. After it dries, the children can use the thumb as the head and add a wiggle eye and color a red wattle. Add feet at the bottom. When the paint has dried, write this poem below the turkey:

This isn't just a turkey, As anyone can see. I made it with my hand, Which is a part of me. It comes with lots of love, Especially to say, I hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving Day!

There are many other turkey crafts for kids you can come up with. Look around on the Internet for turkey crafts for kids or just use your own imagination. You might be surprised at what you can come up with if you think about it!
