In this article we will look at the differences between liquid and powder detergents to help you decide on which one is right for you.

What is laundry Laundry Detergent Fundraising detergent and how does it work?

Laundry detergents basically loosen dirt and stains and then remove them from the fabric so that the dirt can be rinsed out. Too little detergent will render your laundry efforts useless as your clothes will not get clean and your garments can become dingy and dull, irrespective of whether you use liquid or powder detergent Stains are left on cuffs and collars and get re-deposited on the clothes. Especially white laundry items will suffer the consequences of using too little detergent and they often turn a gray or yellow shade as a result.

So ... What is the different between powder and liquid detergents?

Laundry detergents have seen significant improvements since the first box of washing powder was launched onto the market over sixty years ago and today detergents come in two main types: powder and liquid. There is not a lot of difference between the two variants as they have the same active ingredients and the same or similar cleaning power. The only real difference is that powder detergent contains fillers.

Powder laundry detergent.

Powder detergent is great for general wash loads. It is effective for ground-in dirt as well as for general stains.

Pros

· They are usually less expensive

· The cardboard boxes are more eco-friendly

Cons

· They contain more chemicals due to the filler

· Sodium sulphate can damage septic systems

· In the past they didn't dissolve as well in water but that is no longer the case

Liquid laundry detergent

Liquid detergent is particularly effective on greasy stains and because of its fluidity it can be used as a pre-stain treatment for most stains.

Pros

· The detergent is pre-dissolved

· It can be used as pre-stain treatment

· It is claimed to outperform powder

Cons

· It is generally more costly than its powdered counterpart

· It is packaged in plastic which is less eco-friendly

· Chemicals are added to create the liquid

Liquid and powder laundry detergents both have pros and cons because their cleaning power is very similar and even though some attribute the difference between the two to the additives that are used to make the liquid detergent, there really is no 'best detergent'. The reason why people choose one over the other, however, is mainly based on personal preference.
