We successfully extracted miRNAs from FFPE, FS and OCT samples and found that although the RNA in FFPE specimens is considered to be more degraded and damaged than their frozen and OCT-embedded counterparts, the miRNA expression profiles from FFPE samples reliable reflect the information that is retained in those matched from frozen and OCT-embedded tissue samples.
