Control Room Consoles Ideas For Your Company

People will often say that American manufacturing is on the ropes. And there have certainly been setbacks for many sectors. Yet, one can't help but be inspired when looking at certain sectors that have remained. Let's take for instance American control room furniture manufacturing.

Why look at control room furniture, you might ask? Well, furniture is a durable good. And if you didn't already know, durable goods are important economic indicators. When companies are optimistic about the economy, they purchase long-lasting items. It works both ways though, a company without faith in the economy will put off durable goods orders. Put another way, companies invest in long-lasting products when they envision a healthy economy that lasts at least as long as the product itself. More immediately, there is a strong relationship between durable goods and gross domestic product.

In these terms, here is some good news. This April shows a thirteen percent increase in furniture factory orders over the same month last year. The reason for comparing year to year rather than month to month is that orders can fluctuate radically in the short term. In addition, shipments were up 12% and order backlogs were over by 13%. Overall, orders in the first 4 months of 2014 were 5% above that of last year. A 5% increase is a substantial increase. Especially when one considers that durable good orders usually do not grow by more than a single percent year-to-year.

Allow me to point out that these figures are for the consumer furnishings sector. But I think they are a useful metric for deducing the growth of the control room furniture sector. This is because durable goods shipments are a calculated factor in gross domestic product. Since shipments in the consumer sector jumped by a similar margin, we can be rather confident that the trend is generalizable across the industry.

Looking at the numbers here, it looks as though American industry is in good health. If you take a look at niche markets such as control room furniture, future growth looks plausible. The reason for much of this growth is the commitment of American manufacturers like Inracks in Buffalo, NY and their commitment to the ideal of Made in the USA.
