The most recent inspired by a true story film about sled-dogs is the 2006 film Eight Below. In the film, freezing temperatures leave two mushers Dr. Davis McClaren (Bruce Greenwood) and Jerry Shepherd (Paul Walker) to abandon their team. For six months, they try to raise money and find someone to help resuce the dog team they had to abandon while the dogs themselves band together and fight for survival in the freezing wilderness. This story is set in the Antartic and is based on a Japanese expedition to the South Pole in 1958.

We were up there to enjoy the [http://herecomethehoopers.com/great-north-snowdogs-trail-completed/ snow dogs trailer youtube] Woods, not open the Great Empty Pocketbook. Still, "town" was a good time had by all.

Fifth, certain kinds of anti freeze chemicals used on pavements and in cars can lead to fatal consequences for your pet. Pets can be poisoned to death by such chemicals and you should keep them safe by practicing washing of paws after a trip outdoors. Sixth, your pet could injure his/her tongue by getting it stuck on a metal bucket or bowl in extremely cold weather. To avoid this, in the winter, switch to a plastic or ceramic bowl to minimize the threat to your pet. Seventh, pets face a serious danger from frostbite and so you should ensure that they don't retain any snow on their fur after returning from a trip outside.
